In the beginning, there were logs...

The raw Douglas Fir logs awaiting the hand-peeling process A stack of hand-peeled logs are ready to be used inthe contsruction of the Krutsinger's log home A stack of hand-peeled logs are ready to be used inthe contsruction of the Krutsinger's log home
This 10' tall pile of bark, removed during the hand-peeling process, was removed in the peeling of the first round of logs used in the Krutsinger's log home

...Then, with a wave of a crane, armed with scribers and chainsaws, the artisans set to work....

The first round is set down.

... and so, it begins ...

...A week later, the fourth round is set in place...

In order to take a photo that shows the entire footprint of the Krutsinger's log home, this picture had to be taken from the roof of another log home shell that was positioned 300 feet away. Looking toward the garage from the corner of the master suite.

....Another week, and the seventh round is now in place. The window and door headers are about to be set in place and the openings are about to be cut to size, keywayed, and flared back...

The door openings for the 3 bay garage are taking shape. Here is an example of the proposed solid fir garage doors.

Here we can see the header log in place for one side of the prow of the great room. The archway leading into the bedroom area is now shaped. The first of the log floor joists are ready to be notched in. Here you can see the flaring back of the door openings, the cut of the pitch log of the master bedroom, as well as the archway into the bedroom area. Notice the pink interior colour of the Douglas Fir logs that comes out in the door opening and in the pitch log.
